Ariel Bason Freiberg‘s moving installation “Love + Salt” explores her grandparents’ forced immigration from Baghdad to Israel — her grandfather, once a master tailor, now a builder.
This piece hits close to home. It makes us think about our own roots, family ties, and the struggle of starting anew. It’s a story that makes us stop and reflect on what it means to reshape our lives when everything familiar has been left behind. The experience of moving, adapting, and finding an identity echoes through our shared history from generation to generation.
