Ira Klein

Ira Klein is an award-winning composer, guitarist, and educator from Israel, and based in Cambridge, MA. Growing up in Jerusalem, Ira was immersed in the sounds of jazz, contemporary music, and a wide variety of Jewish music. After moving to the U.S. in 2017 to attend Berklee College of Music, he fell in love with American roots music, and dedicated years to intensive study with some of the greatest living folk musicians. Ira is interested in the process of re-imagining traditional music, and making it accessible and exciting to audiences of all ages and backgrounds. Additionally, he loves collaborating across the arts, and is currently working with Boston-based dancers Rachel Linsky and Liz Walker. His work has been supported by organizations such as JArts Boston, CJP and Mass Cultural Council. Ira has taught at Berklee College of Music, and performed in venues such as the MFA, Harvard, and Mass MOCA.
