Our Tzimmes Story
Tzimmes is a traditional Ashkenazi dish made from slow cooked root vegetables and fruits. A tasty blend of savory and sweet, that pairs well with a variety of entrees. We added a New England flair by including dried cranberries and maple syrup in the dish. The fall flavors of carrots and sweet potatoes make it a perfect seasonal addition to any Sukkot menu.
This tzimmes recipe was inspired by Breaking Matzo Founder Andy Goldfarb’s great aunts – Shang and Emma. They were sisters and lived together all of their life. They were wonderful cooks and always made this delicious Tzimmes for the Jewish Holidays.
