Janna Gur

Janna Gur is a Tel Aviv-based cookbook author, journalist, speaker, and culinary expert. She was born in Riga, Latvia, and immigrated to Israel in 1974. She is the founder of Al Hashulchan, the premier Israeli food and wine magazine, which she edited for almost 30 years. Gur is the author of The Book of New Israeli Food, Jewish Soul Food from Minsk to Marrakesh, Shuk – from Market to Table , The Heart of Israeli Home Cooking (with Einat Admony) and The Galilee Table (with Yousef Zuzu Hanna). She has developed and edited nearly 40 cookbooks, many national bestsellers in Israel. For the last two decades, she has been lecturing extensively about Israeli and Jewish food culture as well as developing and leading culinary tours of Israel.
